Chennai: V. C. Arukutty, who was among the first MLAs to support former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam in the power struggle, has challenged the validity of AIADMK expelling him and other MLAs for extending support to Mr. Panneerselvam. Questioning the validity of their expulsion, Mr. Arukutty, who is from Kavundampalayam, said he would accept the expulsion if it was legally binding. “When the appointment of general secretary and deputy general secretary of the AIADMK is constitutionally not valid, the issue of their expulsion from the AIADMK is not tenable. We are the real AIADMK,” he added. Meanwhile, O. Panneerselvam reiterated his demand for a judicial probe to unearth the mystery shrouding former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa’s death.
