Bengaluru: Son of Shantinagar MLA N.A. Haris, Mohammed Nalapad Haris, who thrashed 24-year-old Vidwath, moved the HC on Monday seeking bail along with other accused in the case. Advocate Usman, who filed the petition for Nalapad before the high court, sought bail mainly on the grounds that Vidwath has already been discharged from hospital. He highlighted that the accused had surrendered before the police and the investigation is almost over. When the advocates for Nalapad prayed before the HC for an early hearing, the judge turned down their plea. Now, the bail petition is likely to be listed for hearing on Wednesday.

Nalapad has been arguing that the police have incorrectly included IPC Section 307 (attempt to murder) in the FIR, maintaining that neither him nor the other accused had any motive of killing Vidwath.
