Seven solutions emerge at NIT Tiruchy hackathon

Tiruchy: As many as seven solutions were arrived at the 'Grand Finale' of the two-day Smart  India Hackathon (SIH2019) Software Edition, which concluded at National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, (NIT-T) one of the nodal centres selected by Union HRD ministry to host the event, here on Sunday .

 A NIT-T release said here on Tuesday that there were 31 vibrant teams and 25 enthusiastic mentors who brainstormed and cracked eight problem statements for 36 continuous hours. All the participants comprising 114 boys and 68 girls were exuberant and energetic during the course of the event.

The valediction ceremony was held  in the presence of Raman Narasimhan, vice-president, Cognizant, Dr Mini Shaji Thomas, director, NIT-T and  Dr Samson Mathew, dean, Students Welfare, NIT-T.

In his valedictory address, Raman Narasimhan, emphasized on the insightful scale of the assigned problem statements and the impact in finding a credible solution that would contribute to the development of the nation. In her presidential address, Prof. Mini Shaji Thomas, pointed out that she was thankful to all the members involved in the event for making all the necessary arrangements even at short notice.

The following teams were the winners for their seven solutions: Team "FitGit1.0" from Delhi Technological University, New Delhi working on 'Longevity', Team "Ghoul Coders", Government College of Engineering,  Aurangabad, on 'Waste Management', Team "Technologues" from Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University  for Women, New Delhi on 'Live School for  World-class free education', Team "Hacking Bad" from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Sardar Patel Institute of Technology, Maharashtra, on  'Solid Waste/ Waste management cost', Team "Scorpions X" from Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering  College, Puducherry on 'Avoid Cash Crop Loss', etc.

Team "Apeiron" from Lakshmi Narain College of Technology, Madhya  Pradesh, on 'Mobile App - software  development for GST', Team "Coders United" from Thadomal Shahani Engineering College,  Maharashtra on 'Software platform for managing payment transactions of Employee', the release added.
