Hyderabad: No consensus on Uppal Bhagat plan
The HMDA is auctioning 72 acres of land in a new venture at Uppal Bhagat.
Hyderabad: While only a day is remaining for the Uppal Bhagat re-auction, the HMDA and the MSTC Limited, a Central enterprise which is taking care of the registration process, do not know how many bidders have registered and paid the earnest money deposit.
Officials of the MSTC, a Kolkata-based company, said the corporation takes up registration for different commodities across the country and has a centralised database which cannot segregate the registrations for Uppal Bhagat separately.
This has been creating suspicion among bidders. Sources said that following such a non-transparent process would only benefit certain individuals. The first e-auction was cancelled due to similar reasons.
The HMDA is auctioning 72 acres of land in a new venture at Uppal Bhagat.
It expects to garner Rs 1,100 crore by selling 83 plots of 2,000-square metre in the new layout, and 1.16 lakh square yards in the left-over plots in the old layout.
Registration began on March 9 and ended on April 3. Sources claimed this was to benefit certain individuals.
Asked about this, Mr Anurag of MSTC said the firm would send the data through email and SMS to registered bidders.
A senior HMDA official said they had no data on the number of registrations.
The official admitted that the process was not transparent but refused to comment on any bidders getting benefited.
The official said that for the convenience of bidders, a demo video of the e-auction was uploaded on https://www.hmda.gov.in/. A live mock auction will be conducted on Saturday from 4 pm pm at the HMDA headquarters.
