Interships for Swachh Bharat summer 100 hours
The last date for registration is May 15.
Hyderabad: Students can now earn extra credits for their summer internship. The UGC released a notice on Friday regarding the Swachh Bharat summer internship programme.
The last date for registration is May 15. It will be a 100-hour internship that requires candidates to visit one or more villages and conduct activities of their choice to contribute to the cause of rural sanitation in India.
Students can enrol themselves individually or in groups and submit an online report that needs to be approved by their educational institution. Students can help in construction of toilets, segregation of waste, development of compost pits etc. “The list of activities that students can undertake, is very helpful as they can pick what they feel they can do the best,” says Deepthi Divakara, a teacher.
A website has been developed for this purpose i.e. https://sbsi.mygov.in. The detailed guidelines, registration of students and reporting of activities conducted during the internship period are available on the same website. Two curriculum credits will be given to interns along with cash prizes ranging from Rs.10,000 to Rs.2 lakhs according to the district, state or national level of excellence.
