Kerala: 14-day remand for accused in job fraud

The accused is brother of CPM former Kannur district secretary P Sasi.

KOZHIKODE: Police produced P Satheesan, son of Krishnan, a native of Mavilayi, who was arrested for allegedly swindling money after offering job to youngsters, at Chief Judicial Magistrate court on Saturday. The court has remanded him to 14 days judicial custody, said the police. The accused is brother of CPM former Kannur district secretary P Sasi. The arrest was made based on a complaint filed by Madhuri, wife of Sreedharan, native of Feroke, here.

Satheesan had siphoned off many lakhs from aspirants offering jobs at upcoming Kannur airport and the public sector institution D-Stead at Thiruvananthapuram, according to police.   According to the complaint Satheesan had received Rs 2 lakh from Madhuri offering her job in D-Stead eight months back. He had also siphoned off Rs 2 lakh by bank transfer from Prathibha, wife of Madhuri's brother.
