Kozhikode: Hall of Ocean' is open now
CM promises more space for Regional Science Centre.
KOZHIKODE: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has promised to provide more space for the upgradation of the Regional Science Centre and Planetarium here.
"Lack of space is the only hindrance for the further development of the centre," he said after inaugurating the 'Hall of Ocean' at the RSC.
The hall was created to provide a unique view of the ocean and its mysteries to the visitors. "Oceans are just an accumulation of waves when seen from outside, but they hold a different world of mysteries inside. This hall provides a chance to the common people and students to witness them," said Mr Vijayan.
Mr. S.M. Khened, director, Nehru Science Centre, Mumbai, welcomed the gathering. Mr Pradeep Kumar, who presided, said, "this is one of the best science centres in the country. The government will take steps to create more facilities here," he said.
The visitors to the 4,800-square-feet exhibition hall will be welcomed by the replica of a huge blue whale with its mesmerising body gestures. The hall consists of a variety of bizarre creatures at different levels of the ocean. The composition of the ocean, production of salt from the ocean, evaporation cycle etc have been displayed.
