Foetus case: Husband in-laws held

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Police on Tuesday informed the Hyderabad High Court that they have arrested the husband, in-laws and sister in law of the woman in connection with alleged crushing of female foetus with hands during abortions in the Gayatri Nursing Home in Singareni Colony at Saidabad of the city.

Ms. Chetana IPS, assistant commissioner of Sultan Bazar sub division and investigation officer in this case on Tuesday submitted the Action Taken Report before a division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice K. Vijaya Lakshmi pursuant to its earlier direction while dealing with a PIL by R. Sandeep Yadav a resident of Amberpet challenging alleged illegal abortions of female foetus in Gayatri Nursing Home in Singareni Colony at Saidabad of the city.

The victim in this case is from Nalgonda and the abortion was done at the instance of husband and in-laws of victim without her knowledge and they have recorded the statement of the victim, the investigation officer added.

The case was adjourned at the request of the counsel for the management of nursing home.
