Hyderabad: Osmania University forms a committee to probe into fire
The fire that was caused due to a short circuit which partially damaged a few answer papers.
Hyderabad: A fire broke out in the spot valuation centre of the Osmania University in Hyderabad early on Tuesday morning.
The fire that was caused due to a short circuit which partially damaged a few answer papers.
On seeing the fire, the university staff rushed to the spot immediately and also alerted the local fire station and the police.
The fire team from Tarnaka arrived at the spot and doused the fire in time. The degree spot valuation centre on campus is currently running the instant valuation of the recently held degree supplementary examinations.
University officials swung into action and made concerted efforts to avert a major fire, said Vice-Chancellor Mr S. Ramchandran.
The University security team and OU Police were also present at the spot. The University has constituted a committee to conduct a probe into the mishap as a few answer papers were also damaged in the fire.
Vice-Chancellor Professor S. Ramchandra said, “The committee will inquire into the fire mishap at the spot valuation centre to assess the extent of damage and submit a report in two days.”
