Police to guard theatres as High Court allowed release of Rajnikanth's movie Kaala
The film, starring Rajinikanth, is scheduled to release internationally on Friday.
Bengaluru: Following Karnataka High Court’s order on Tuesday, asking the government to ensure adequate security at theatres during the release of Rajnikanth's movie Kaala in the state, city Police Commissioner T. Suneel Kumar has said the police will ensure security at all theatres screening the movie in the city.
The police have sought details of theatres screening ‘Kaala’ to deploy police men. The film, starring Rajinikanth, is scheduled to release internationally on Friday.
On May 29, the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce had decided not to screen Kaala after several local organisations demanded a ban, over Rajinikanth’s reported comments on the dispute over sharing of Cauvery river water between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
