15 Indian cities feature in list of top 20 most polluted cities in the world

HYDERABAD: India fared terribly in the air pollution index for the year 2022, according to a report by a Swiss air quality technology company IQAir.

In its report, the Swiss company has named 15 Indian cities in top 20 most polluted cities list and in the list of top 50 most polluted cities, it has named 39 Indian cities, indicating that the air quality in country is one of the worst in the world.

Although India has dropped three places from its last year’s rank to be ranked eighth among the most polluted countries in the world, Indian cities do not seem to have improved air quality.

Chad, Iraq, Pakistan, Bahrain and Bangladesh are the five most polluted countries in the world in the year 2022.
