Hyderabad: Bag with passport of tourist stolen

A CCTV footage acquired by police showed an unidentified man picking up the bag and walking away. Police released the suspect's photograph.

Hyderabad: A Chinese woman tourist’s bag was stolen from Chowmahalla Palace on Wednesday. The victim, Si Yen Liu, was visiting the site with her friends when the incident happened.

A CCTV footage acquired by police showed an unidentified man picking up the bag and walking away. Police  released the suspect’s photograph. 

Si Yen told police that she had kept the bag on the floor to take some photographs but when she returned to where she had kept it, it was not there. The bag contain Rs 2,000, her passport and other travel documents. 

When she could not trace the bag, the woman approached local police, who soon started a search in the premised. The cops then accessed the CCTV camera footage, which revealed a man stealing the bag. 

“We have booked a case and efforts are on to identify the man, who stole the bag,” said Hussaini Alam Police Inspector G. Shyam Sunder.
