Centre biased towards Andhra Pradesh, says MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy
He said that it is shameful that the Telangana government did not file a counter affidavit in the Supreme Court on this issue.
Hyderabad: Telangana Congress Legislature Party deputy leader and MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy has criticised the affidavit filed by the central government in the Supreme Court on implementation of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, saying it has mentioned more issues related to Andhra Pradesh than to Telangana.
Speaking to the mediapersons on Thursday, Mr Ponguleti Reddy, who filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court against the Central government on implementation of AP Reorganisation Act, said that the Central government has neglected issues related to Telangana like the Bayyaram steel plant, Tribal University, and Kazipet railway zone among others.
He said while Andhra Pradesh is fighting with the centre on implementation of assurances given to the state at the time of bifurcation, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who claims that he achieved statehood for Telangana, has failed to get assurances given to Telangana implemented.
He said that it is shameful that the Telangana government did not file a counter affidavit in the Supreme Court on this issue. He demanded that Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao tell the people why he is neglecting to protect the state's interests. He alleged that the state and central governments are playing games in the name of farmers.
