The revised Assembly schedule was released by the Speaker, Sri P Dhanapal after the BAC meeting.
Chennai: The extended Budget session of the Tamil Nadu Assembly which was earlier scheduled till July 30, has now been curtailed by a week.
At a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting on Friday, it was decided that the House in this session will sit till July 20 (Saturday).
However, the Assembly will meet in the afternoons also daily on all working days, to enable all the demands for grants for various departments to be passed.
The revised Assembly schedule was released by the Speaker, Sri P Dhanapal after the BAC meeting.
It is learnt that as the election to the Vellore Lok Sabha constituency has been notified for August 5, political party leaders would go out for campaigning and this was among the considerations for pruning the Assembly session which began on June 28.
