Vijayawada: Inter pass now eligible for village volunteer post
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister met the expert committee on education on Friday.
Vijayawada: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has decided to bring down the education qualification for the government announced posts of village volunteers from Degree to Intermediate.
This is only for urban wards volunteer posts and not for the rural and tribal areas, clarified the government. On June 27, Deccan Chronicle had published a news stating that the grama volunteer posts were getting a good respo-nse and highlighted the qualification to reconsider from Degree to Class X. The government, however, has taken a decision to re-duce the qualifications fr-om graduate to Inter only.
Speaking to DC, AP unemployed youth JAC state president Samayam Hemanth Kumar said, “Decreasing in the qualification requirement is a welcoming step but we still stand on our demand to bring it to Class X as Degree students are not likely to apply for ward volunteer posts. It could give a chance to Class X also. He stated that they came to know that the needed applications were not received by the government, so to give a cha-nce for Class X unemplo-yed also. He also said that earlier for Group 1 posts 1,18,897 candidates attended, for the Group 2 posts 1,77,876 candidates attended and for the Group 3 posts 2,94,966 candidates attended. Hence for the grama volunteer posts, the government should postpone the last date and the qualification for the ward volunteers (In Urban areas) also should be decreased to Class X or its equivalent for filling all the posts. He demanded to correct the app of grama volunteers to allow distance education graduates to apply for the posts as there is no chance to apply for them, he added.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister met the expert committee on education on Friday. Several key decisions have been made as part of this meeting. Mr Reddy has decided to implement the Amma Vodi from January 26.
