Dharani Owned by Firm with Foreign Players, Says Revanth
The BJP talks of Kashmir files but doesn't talk of this land mafia in the state
Hyderabad: The Congress will release the ‘Dharani’ files along with evidence after July 15 to show that TerraCIS Technologies Ltd, the frontal company which runs Dharani, is allegedly 99 per cent owned by foreigners based in the British Virgin Islands, which is a tax haven, TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday.
Revanth said that the portal is in the hands of minister K.T. Rama Rao’s friend Gade Sridhar. “KCR and family are using him. We are trying to find out the details of the company in the tax haven. Lakhs of acres of government land are disappearing. The data of all landowners, along with their Aadhaar number and PAN card details, are with foreigners now,” he said.
“The BJP talks of Kashmir files but doesn’t talk of this land mafia in the state. After we announced that we will abolish Dharani, KCR and KTR are going to town and seem to be worried, even as they claim they are going to win the Assembly polls,” Revanth Reddy said.
Addressing the media, Revanth Reddy said that the Centre should find out who the investors in Dharani are. “I challenge BJP leader G. Kishan Reddy to force the Central government to find out who the investors are from the tax haven,” he said.
The TPCC chief claimed that Sridhar could open the Dharani portal and change the status of land in the prohibited list and then register them to BRS followers. “New owners of lands are being created for government lands and transferred and sold after laying out plots in them. The entire loot is happening through the portal,” he alleged.
Citing instances of such alienation of lands, he said, “A field study by our leader Kodanda Reddy on the Dharani portal revealed that 1,500 acres given to the poor during Indira Gandhi regime were given to Gujarat’s Amul company. Minister Gangula Kamalakar has got 100 acres from this land parcel.”
Citing another instance, he alleged: “The High Court recently found fault with the allotment of 1,022 acres endowment land in Yacharam mandal of Rangareddy district to a pharma company. Endowment land cannot be used for any other purpose. The government will have to approach the court seeking land if any public interest is involved.”
“We will bring a better portal in place of Dharani after we come to power and expose KCR’s land irregularities. The visit by KTR to Delhi has strengthened the bond between BJP and BRS,” he said.
Asked for his reaction on the demands of the BC communities for more seats in the upcoming state elections, Revanth Reddy said, “We are committed to the Udaipur Declaration of the party and will announce the candidature of BC, SC and ST candidates first.”
He alleged that the BJP had cheated its party leader Etala Rajendar. “If security has been provided to him, the person who threatened him ought to have had cases filed against him. Why did the state government not file a case?” Revanth Reddy questioned, referencing Etala’s claims that BRS MLA P. Kaushik Reddy had set out a supari for his killing.
“My own security has been ignored by the government despite High Court orders,” he said.
The Congress had released a land declaration on the occasion, promising, among other things, a title guarantee law for lands, comprehensive survey of land records, abolition of old laws and a new single law on lands, implementation of the Authorised Cultivators Act to provide loan eligibility for tenant farmers and implement the Land Acquisition Act brought in by the Congress in 2013.
