SC Collegium Recommends Justice Alok Aradhe As Chief Justice Of Telangana HC

HYDERABAD: The Supreme Court collegium headed by Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud, in a meeting held on Wednesday, resolved to recommend Justice Alok Aradhe of the Karnataka High Court as Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court, along with the appointment of six other High Courts.

A vacancy in the office of the Chief Justice of Telangana High Court will arise consequent upon the elevation of Chief Justice Justice Ujjal Bhuyan to the Supreme Court on Wednesday.

Justice Aradhe a native of Raipur was appointed judge of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh on December 29, 2009. He is now a senior puisne judge in his parent High Court. He was transferred to the Jammu and Kashmir High Court on September 16, 2016. He became acting Chief Justice of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court on May 11, 2018.

Justice Aradhe became judge of the Karnataka High Court on November 17, 2018 and its acting Chief Justice on July 3, 2022.

After the appointment of a regular Chief Justice to the Karnataka High Court, Justice Aradhe has been functioning as a judge at the Karnataka High Court.
