Visakhapatnam is India's digital valley
Youngsters asked to update themselves with the latest technology.
Visakhapatnam: State IT minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy has said that Vizag is India’s Digital Valley and urged the youngsters to be updated with the latest technology. Mr Reddy launched AP Cloud initiative which was taken up by the state government in collaboration with Miracle Software Systems to train at least one lakh youngsters in the state in latest digital technologies. “Vizag is the digital valley of India like Silicon Valley for the US. Vizag has everything, land, sea, hills, industries and IT companies.
There is no dearth for job but the youngsters should be equipped with skills of the latest and advanced technology. Technology is the backbone for any economy. Before bifurcation there are around 3.3 lakh IT employees in the state and now its only 22,500. In the combined Andhra Pradesh I exports were Rs 65,000 crore but now in our state it is just Rs 2,200 crore. We need to improve the IT exports from the new state and for that we need to adapt new advanced technologies and the youngsters should also learn them,” said the minister here on Friday. He also added that the sate government has been promoting IT sector in a big manner and have been creating necessary infrastructure and eco system to attract IT companies.
The minister further said that government has been providing incentives to encourage IT investors. He also said that government is also using technology like E files, E Office, E Cabinet and E Pragathi for its functioning. He added that by August end the Andhra Pradesh Fibre net services will be available. Mr Reddy said that many investors are showing interest in investing in Vizag.
