Osmania University's TV is to go on-air from tomorrow
Hyderabad: Osmania University (OU) TV is to go on-air from Monday, telecasting high-quality content recorded by its professors via the T-SAT network.
On Monday, lessons on geography, sociology and psychology will be aired from 8.30 am to 10.30 am with a repeat telecast in the evening, for which the teaching faculty has developed video content for 758 lessons.
Content of various UG and PG programmes content will be added shortly, preparation in journalism is underway, the university said.
Following an agreement with the Telangana Skills, Academy and Training (T-SAT), a satellite TV network under the state’s IT, electronics and communication department, the university has been given a separate link for the Osmania TV.
A trial run of the same was held on Saturday. T-SAT network is operating educational channels Vidya and Nipuna. Soon, OU will shift content for 90 distance contact courses to its satellite channel that will enable students to pursue the course by following course content on the TV.
Apart from studio recorded lessons, content will also be recorded in the live classroom to bring a real classroom-like experience to viewers. The same lessons will be uploaded on to OU’s new YouTube Channel Osmania TV.
