Teachers are architects of students' lives: Mandali Budhha Prasad
Education with human values is the need of the hour, says MLC.
Guntur: AP Legislative Assembly deputy speaker Mandali Budhha Prasad said teachers are architectures of students’ lives and urged them to produce doctors, engineers, scientists, industrialists, intellectuals, politicians and others to serve the society and the country.
Several programmes were held marking the Teachers Day at Venkateswara Vignana Mandiram and other educational institutions in Guntur on Tuesday.
Addressing Teachers Day meeting at Kommineni Gardens at Koritepadu in Guntur city organised by Bhasyam Medex, Mr Buddha Prasad said a teacher can produce a President, Prime Minister, Chief Minister and others and Sarvepalli Radha-krishnan proved that a teacher can achieve the highest position in the country. “He became the President of India.”
MLC A.S. Ramakrishna said education with humanity is the need of the hour and sought the young doctors to treat the poor with humanity.
In another programme at SIBAR Dental Medical College, the students were told to bring awareness about the importance of hygiene among the masses for a healthy life.
Directorate of medical educaiton Dr K. Babji praised Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan saying that he showed the path to serve human beings and asked the dental students to follow the principles of the great person.
He urged the dental students to respect their teachers as they provide the necessary education to bring them recognition in the society.
Guntur collector K. Sasidhar inaugurated a blood donation camp in Guntur Medical College on the occasion of Teachers’ Day programme.
He praised the efforts of medicos towards serving the society in various manners and asked them to promote blood donation among students.
He sought medical students to respect the senior doctors and professors who teach them about ways to save the lives of patients through various treatments.
Mr Sasidhar, Guntur Medical College principal Dr G. Subba Rao, GGH superintendent Dr D.S. Raju Naidu and others participated in the programme. The officials presented awards to best teachers of Guntur district during the programme.
9 teachers from AP awarded
About 9 teachers were selected for National Best Teacher award from AP.
Six were selected from the primary school segment and three from high school segment.
Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu has presented them awards on Tuesday in New Delhi.
While Gorantla Sreenivasa Rao of Kakumanu, Vimalakumari of Pamulapadu, Chaganti Sreenivasa Rao of Manukonda, Chilukuri Sreenivasa Rao of Kadiyam, Yerra Chakravarthi of Maredupudi-Visakhapatnam district, and Gotteti Ravi of Endada were selected from the primary schools segment, Botlakoti Shankar Rao of GC Penta Zilla Parishad High School, Vizianagaram district, Dharmaraju of Chagollu-West Godavari district and Lokananda Reddy of Tejampudi were selected from High School segment, for national-level best teacher awards.
The teachers were urged to transform students into better individuals to serve the society and the country in the future. They were told that they can change the lives of a many in the schools by being ideal.
