Missing 44-year-old techie found dead in Chennai
The body was moved to the Government Royapettah Hospital for an autopsy.
Chennai: A 44-year-old software professional deemed missing was found dead in the narrow passage, where sewer pipelines are installed in the apartment complex on Arunachalam road in Virugambakkam on Thursday.
Ruling out the possibility of murder, police suspect the man to have either slipped from the terrace of the high rise apartment or must have committed suicide.
Rajaram, living with his family at Jains Westminster apartment complex here was missing since Tuesday night. According to a complaint by his wife, Deepa (41), he went to withdraw cash from an ATM nearby and never returned.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, residents noticed the foul smell emanating from the passage between the buildings and alerted the police. Virugambakkam police rushed to the scene and recovered a body, which was identified to be that of the missing techie.

Police investigations revealed that Rajaram usually went to the terrace to attend phone calls as the signal is weak inside the apartment. He also used to smoke on the terrace, police said.
Police suspect Rajaram to have climbed the terrace to attend a phone call when he slipped and fell into the passage.
He was employed at an IT firm in Kandanchavadi along Rajiv Gandhi Salai. Police said that they would also be enquiring if there were issues at his workplace. He is survived by wife Deepa and daughter Rakshita.
