No work on Yadadri MMTS line in Telangana
Work on the MMTS Phase-II is in progress on the 21-km section from Secunderabad to Ghatkesar.
Hyderabad: People have to wait longer for MMTS services to be extended up to Yadadri, or Raigir railway station located about 7- km from the Lord Narasimha Swamy.
Though the Centre had sanctioned the MMTS Yadadri line eight months ago following a request by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, there has not been much progress on the project.
SCR officials said survey, design and other work on the line would start soon, but their priority was to complete MMTS Phase-II by December 2017.
“There is no target date fixed for the MMTS-Yadari line. Work on Phase-II are in full swing and the Malkajgiri to Bolaram via Secunderabad MMTS line likely to become the first stretch to be completed before the targeted date. Even the MMTS travellers are demanding that this line be opened soon,” said a senior official.
Work on the MMTS Phase-II is in progress on the 21-km section from Secunderabad to Ghatkesar. The MMTS-Yadadri line can be termed as Phase-III as it it will be extended by 32 km from Ghatkesar by laying a third line with electrification, signalling works and new stations.
