Telangana plans drugs at doorsteps
He said the TRS government was building confidence in government hospitals among the people.
Nizamabad: Health minister Dr C. Laxma Reddy said the state government would supply medicines at the doorstep of chronic patients doorstep every quarter.
“We will identify diabetes and hypertension patients in each household and supply them a kit of medicines every three months,” he said. He was speaking after inaugurating advanced equipment at the cancer hospital here on Sunday. Dr Reddy said people in rural areas who suffer from hypertension and diabetes ignore taking medicines.
He said the TRS government was building confidence in government hospitals among the people. He said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was giving the utmost importance for the medical and health sector and was planning to supply a kit containing tablets for hypertension and diabetes, he said.
He said preventive measures were better than seeking a cure for diseases. People should concentrate on healthy lifestyle. Awareness on health is important, he said. He appreciated a team of doctors in Nizamabad for serving cancer patients.
