Hyderabad: Mahakutami to declare all candidates at one go
Prof. Kodandaram told mediapersons that the seat-sharing would be resolved by Diwali.
Hyderabad: Telangana Jana Samiti president Kodandaram said that the Congress had offered the new formation 10 seats as part of the Mahakutami seat adjustments. He said that they had sought three or four seats additionally, and discussions with Telangana Congress leaders were continuing.
Prof. Kodandaram told mediapersons that the seat-sharing would be resolved by Diwali. He said the Mahakutami would declare all its candidates at one go and hit the campaign soon afterwards.
He said that the Mahakutami leaders had thought that the seat adjustment talks would be concluded by the Dasara festival, but it had stretched to Diwali.
To a question, Prof. Kodandaram said that they were aware of the CPI’s displeasure on the number of seats offered by the Congress. The Congress would resolve the CPI issue as it was a key member of the Mahakutamim he said and expressed the hope that the party would continue in the alliance.
In this context, Prof. Kodandaram said the Congress should play the role of an elder brother in seat adjustment talks. He also alleged that the TRS was trying to break the Mahakutami. He said that the party had prepared its election manifesto which was being sent to the Election Commission for appr-oval. Prof. Kodandaram and TJS leaders released campaign material with the party symbol ‘match box’.
He said that after the seat adjustment, he would declare his decision about contesting in the elections. He said that if the Mahakutami came to power, June 2 would be declared as Telangana martyrs day.
