Telangana offers help to Chhattisgarh for elections

Hyderabad: Telangana state government has offered all possible assistance to Chhattisgarh which goes to polls November 12 and 20. Keeping in view of the Assembly elections in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Mizoram and Telangana states chief election commissioner O.P. Rawat on Monday conducted a video conference will all chief electoral officers, chief secretaries and DGPs of these states.
TS chief secretary S.K. Joshi informed to CEC that the officers of Telangana state were already in touch with their counterparts of Bijapur and Sukuma, two border districts of Chhattisgarh, and every effort is made to conduct the elections in peaceful manner. Mr Joshi said he has assured them of all possible help.
Meanwhile, 11 political parties in the state contesting the elections have been given time slots on government media All India Radio and Doordarshan. TS chief electoral officer said in a statement on Monday that the period of broadcasts and telecasts will be between the last day of filing nominations and two days before the polling.
The Prasar Bharathi will decide the actual date and time for the broadcasts and telecasts, subject to technical constrains.
