John Prakash alias Venkateswarlu, with his love, Rajya Lakshmi, belonging to Makkevaripeta of Nowlur, in the police station on Tuesday. They both exchanged garlands in the station.
Rajya Lakshmi lodged a complaint with the Mangalagiri police that Prakash promised to marry her but has been avoiding her for the last few days with an idea to marry another woman. She said that they knew each other for the last seven years and that Prakash even used to visit her house and promised her parents that he would marry their daughter.
Laskhmi said that her parents also agreed for their marriage but that Prakash began postponing it on various grounds. Later, he even began avoiding her as he had plans to marry another woman belonging to Tenali. Lakshmi said that she even went to Orvakallu village in Achampeta mandal, the native place of Prakash, with her family members to plead him to marry her. When he refused to do so, Lakshmi lodged a complaint with the police. SI Vasu said that after counselling, both the families agreed to get Prakash and Lakshmi married.
