First-timers, educated to brighten up GHMC

B. Ram Mohan elected from Cherlapally ward 3 is highest educated with PhD in Law

Hyderabad: More than a third of the 150 corporators declared elected to the GHMC on Friday are at least graduates. Dr B. Ram Mohan (Cherlapally Ward 3) holds a PhD in law and Ms Vijaya Reddy (Khairatabad), an MTech, is pursuing her doctorate in computer science. Both are from the TRS.

Among other corporators, 22 hold postgraduate degrees and 46 are graduates. Most of the rest have cleared at least their Class XII or Class X exams, according to an analysis of election affidavits by the Association of Democratic Reform.

TRS’ Bharatinagar corporator Sindhu Reddy holds an MTech degree, and mayoral election front-runner G. Vijay Lakshmi (TRS-Banjara Hills) has done her LLB, ADR’s Rakesh Reddy Dubbudu said.

Mr T. Srinivas Reddy (TRS-Mylardevpally) and Ms Lasya Nandita (TRS-Kavadiguda), the daughter of Secunderabad Cantonment MLA Sayanna’s daughter, have BTech degrees, the former in aviation.

There are MBAs too: Ms Salma Ameen (MIM-Vijayanagar Colony), Ms T. Sunaritha Reddy (TRS-Moosarambagh), Ms P.N. Bhargavi, Ms Hemavathi and Mr Jadeeshwar Goud (TRS-Madhapur).
