Kuppam bags A' grade in Smart Village scheme

Nellore: Headquarters of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's Assembly constituency, Kuppam, has bagged 'A' grade with 71 marks under Smart Village - Smart Wards programme.
The village is in the forefront with respect to priority subjects such as good governance, human resources development, financial development, environment upkeep, health and education among others. Kuppam sarpanch, Dr Venkatesh, revealed this while speaking to the media at Kuppam on Saturday.
Dr Venkatesh said that the habitation is lagging behind in the construction of Individual Sanitary Lavatories, employment generation and greenery but they would strive hard to achieve the targets.
He expressed confidence in fund flow to the extent of Rs 100 crore while referring to selection of Kuppam under Union government's Shyam Prasad Mukherji's Urban Mission.
He hinted about plans to introduce "Dial your Sarpanch" programme on every Monday henceforth to address the problems of the residents of Kuppam.
