Solve water woes, Ongole MP Subba Reddy tells officials
He said that the government had decided to release 42 tmc ft of water from Nagarjunasagar dam.
Ongole: MP and district vigilance and monitoring committee chairman Y.V. Subba Reddy instructed the officials to solve the drinking water problem in the district and transport water through tankers to the village outskirts. He addressed district-level vigilance and monitoring committee meeting held here on Saturday.
He said that the government had decided to release 42 tmc ft of water from Nagarjunasagar dam and instructed the officials send proposals to release 32 tmc ft of water to meet drinking water needs of people.
He further directed the officials to take steps to supply purified water to fluoride-affected villages and added that water-level is falling in Ramate-erdham reservoir. In-charge collector Dr Hari Jawaharlal was present.
