Hyderabad: Constable kills self after reports of illicit affair

Based on his complaint, a case was booked under Section 494 (marrying again during lifetime of husband or wife) of IPC and a probe was started.

Hyderabad: A policeman posted in Mughalpura station in the old city allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving train at Moula Ali around midnight on Monday.

The deceased, identified as Sandeep of Lalaguda, was depressed after his alleged illicit relationship with a married woman was reported in the media, police said.

A housewife and mother of a two-year old, Sneha, left her house breaking ties with her husband Nagaraju after she allegedly fell in love with the constable and married him.

According to RGIA Inspector M. Mahesh, Nagaraju from Shamshabad married Sneha three years ago and the couple had a baby boy two years ago.

Nagaraju of Shamshabad alleged that Sandeep and his wife got married in Vikarabad. RGIA police booked a case against the constable on January 29 and started a probe.

Based on his complaint, a case was booked under Section 494 (marrying again during lifetime of husband or wife) of IPC and a probe was started.

Mughalpura station house officer said Sandeep was sent to the headquarters. However, distressed by his name being shamed in the media, he decided to end his life and jumped in front of a moving train at Moula Ali railway tracks on Tuesday.
