Rajahmundry: Wages based on biometric attendance based wages to civic staff
Sanitation workers told to keep the city neat and clean.
Rajahmundry: Municipal Commissioner Sumit Kumar Gandhi said that municipal staff will be given their monthly wages based on registration
of their biometric attendance.
Taking part in a meeting held with the officials from health and other departments here on Wednesday, the Municipal Commissioner laid stress on the staff registering their biometric attendance without fail.
He said some workers were taking leave without even getting permission from the concerned officers and warned that stern action would be initiated against such workers.
The Commissioner asked all the officials and the workers to work with commitment to make the city neat and clean.
Later, in a meeting with the sanitation staff, he underlined the importance of making the city free from dustbins.
He said that at many places, people were seen dumping garbage openly on the ground or on public roads and drains and directed the sanitation workers to enhance door-to-door collection of garbage to avoid such practice from the people.
He felt there was a need for close monitoring of the sanitation workers on ground with Real Time Monitoring System.
He also stressed upon the need to bring down the number of dust bins gradually in the city so that the people could wait for the worker to visit their house and collect the garbage instead of dumping in bins or in open places.
Mr Gandhi instructed the sanitation workers to clear drainage on a regular basis and take up desiltation to avoid stagnation of water. He asked all the concerned officials to keep close tabs on the functioning of workers to ensure that the city always looked clean.
Municipal Additional Commissioner N. V. V. Satyanarayana Rao, municipal health officer Dr M.V.R. Murthy and others were present in the meeting.
