Visakhapatnam: A nearly three-minute video, purportedly shot by a white American, said to be from Ohio, is illustrative of the opinion Americans hold about Indians. In the video, a voice is heard asking: “What happened to all Americans living here?”
The video, titled ‘Welcome to Columbus Ohio suburbs — Let’s take a walk to Indian park’ (sic) was posted on the website SaveAmericanITJobs.com, managed by one Steve Pushor, who works as a computer programmer in Virginia.
In the video, the American says, “You see this whole area is all Indian, amazing. It’s amazing the number of jobs having been taken away from Americans. The Indian crowd has ravished the Midwest. It's a takeover.”
The video is said to have been shot on a Sunday morning in a neighbourhood play area where tens of Indians, most of them Telugus, were seen playing volleyball, kids playing, cycling, some jogging and womenfolk chatting.
“So much of suppressed anger is coming out now. Hope this phase passes by soon," said a Telugu NRI software engineer who lives in Virginia, after watching the video.
“At 40 seconds into the video, the American says ‘these people (Indians) don’t assimilate’. This explains why they have a special kind of hatred to us Indians,” said a Telugu doctor who lives in the US.
