New collectors for Chennai and Kancheepuram

Nasimuddin will be the new environment and forest secretary said the government order.

Chennai: In a major bureaucratic shuffle on Monday the state government transferred 12 IAS officers including collectors of Chennai and Kancheepuram.
V .Anbuselvan, former deputy commissioner of Chennai corporation. is posted as Chennai collector. Similarly sub collector P .Ponniah will be the new Kancheepuram collector replacing R. Gajalakshmi. Gajalakshmi is now posted as deputy commissioner (revenue and finance) Chennai corporation. Chennai collector B. Maheswari will be posted as joint commissioner (administration), commercial taxes, said an order issued by chief secretary Girija Vaidyanathan.

The order also saw some no-nonsense officers returning back to the secretariat after several years including Sunil Paliwal as the new higher education secretary and T. Udhayachandran as the school education secretary. Interestingly Sabitha, who has served for more than five years as the school education secretary was transferred to Tamil Nadu Cements as its managing director.

Senior bureaucrats including industry’s secretary Vikram Kapur and environment secretary Atulya Misra were also transferred as secretaries of energy and Industries. Nasimuddin will be the new environment and forest secretary said the government order.
