Nellore: Collector pats civic officials Swachh Sarveykshan rank
He reminded them that they will be liable for stringent action if they violate the code.
Nellore: Referring to Tirupati city securing 8th place among top 10 best cities across the country in the Swachh Sarveykshan - 2019 survey, Chittoor district collector P.S. Pradyumna praised the Tirupati civic body commissioner, sanitary workers and staff for their outstanding work.
“Though it is not satisfactory as Tirupati was placed 6th last year, we are happy that this city is in the top ten” Mr Pradyumna said.
He appealed to everyone concerned to strive to secure a better rank next year. The collector called upon the teams from district-level to polling booth-level to gear up for the ensuing general elections as the notification for the elections will be announced any time now.
Mr Pradyumna said the model code of conduct will come into effect immediately after the notification and all concerned must ensure its implementation in letter and spirit.
Addressing the district-level nodal officials at his chambers in Chittoor on Wednesday, he underlined the need to discharge their duties transparently without any bias as per the rules of Election Commission.
He reminded them that they will be liable for stringent action if they violate the code. Referring to International Women's Day scheduled for March 8 and Consumers Day on 15th, he said the events should be held only in the presence of officials and not political leaders.
He instructed them to remove the posters, flex boards and hoardings of political leaders immediately after the announcement of election schedule.
