Telangana High Court reserves order on poll symbol for SFB
Seeking to direct the ECI to continue allotting the same symbol to his party and reserved its verdict.
Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Wednesday reserved its order on a plea challenging the Election Commission’s decision to delete the election symbol ‘Truck’ of the Samajwadi Forward Bloc (SFB).
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan and Justice A. Rajasekhar Reddy heard the petition of L.Muralidhar Rao, the National President of the party, seeking to direct the ECI to continue allotting the same symbol to his party and reserved its verdict.
The ECI furnished its contention before the Bench by stating that the Samajwadi Forward Bloc was not a recognized party and said that the party’s voting percentage in the recent Assembly elections was not up to the mark to allow a permanent symbol.
