Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Cricket Association uses about one lakh litres of water a day to maintain the ground, the main square as well as the practice pitches at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium located in the Uppal industrial area, during the cricket season.
The stadium will host seven IPL matches later this month and in May. Water for this purpose is drawn from the six four-inch borewells spread over 16 acres of land that is part of the stadium. The borewells run 220 feet deep.
