Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a Joint Venture of PSUs under the ministry of power, will be responsible for implementing these schemes. It is estimated that the energy-efficiency schemes can save around Rs 20,000 crore on agricultural subsidies with energy efficient pumps and systems.
EESL announced that energy efficient fans can save Rs 700 per annum for the households that use them. A total of two ceiling fans can be bought on one electricity bill from the domestic category consumers only.
