Vuda board okays Rs 969 crore budget
Around Rs 13 crore have been allotted to take up development works, in Srikakulam and Rs 25.23 crore for Vizianagaram.
Visakhapatnam: Vuda Board has approved Rs 969 crore annual budget for 2016-17 at the meeting held here on Wednesday. In this financial year, Vuda has decided to take up developmental works at a cost of Rs 141 crore in the metro region and around Rs 304 crore will be paid to the government in the form of various taxes.
Vuda’s receipts would be around Rs 969 crore from sale proceeds, development charges, investments, rents on buildings. And under different heads, Vuda’s expenses will be Rs 921 crores. Around Rs 13 crore have been allotted to take up development works, in Srikakulam and Rs 25.23 crore for Vizianagaram.
In the Vuda’s Board meeting held on Wednesday 52 issues were discussed.
Laying of master plan roads at Vuda central park, appointing consultant to prepare Anandapuram area development plan, and other issues have been approved.
After the Board meeting, state municipal administration and urban development department, principal secretary, Karikal Valaven, said that farmers have come forward offering around 365 acres of land at around three locations in Vizag district urging Vuda to take up land pooling and develop their lands.
He added that, Vuda is deriving an economic model on developing these lands that would benefit both Vuda and the farmers. Around 50 per cent of land will go away in creating infrastructure facilities in the pooling, he added.
