Good rains, growth in store for Telangana
EC code of conduct keeps CM off function.
Hyderabad: Sri Vikari Nama Ugadi was celebrated in Telangana state on Saturday with traditional gaiety. Telugu people wore traditional attire and offered special prayers in the morning.
Pundit Santosh Kumar Siddhanti while reciting the Panchanga Sravanam (the almanac) at the official celebrations in Ravindra Bharati auditorium predicted that the state is going to see considerable progress and development in the New Year. He further said that the state will witness good rains in the coming monsoon along with good economic growth and the completion of various irrigation projects including the Kaleshwaram Project.
He added that the state will benefit as the Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary belong to the same zodiac sign and TS will rise as a role model for the country in the implementation of welfare schemes.
Although with the Model Code of Conduct in force, K. Chandrasekhar Rao stayed away from the official celebrations, S.K. Joshi and others attended them.
