Hyderabad: Many areas waterlogged after short spell of rain

Manholes were choked with plastic bags and other debries which prevented the rainwater from flowing into stormwater drains.

Hyderabad: A few minutes of rain saw waterlogging in many areas of the city, especially on the roads near the Metro Rail stations at Balanagar, Malakpet and Kukatpally.

There were also complaints of waterlogging near KBR Park, Police Control Room at Bashee-rbagh, Raj Bhavan Road, Police Control Room at Nampally, Telangana Bhavan, Jubilee Hills, Road No. 5 Venkatgiri-nagar and Road No. 92 of Jubilee Hills.

Traffic at Basheerbagh was affected as a huge tree got uprooted and fell on the road. The disaster management team rushed to the spot to remove the debris and clear the road.

Due to the strong winds, many areas in the city suffered power outages. Electricity officials said supply has been was restored. Branches of trees fell at various places, some of them breaking the overhead wires.
