APJ Abdul Kalam aides told not to use his name

Chennai: “Of all the Presidents of India, A.P.J.Abdul Kalam holds the unique distinction of being the typical apolitical leader appointed as the President”, the Madras high court said while dealing with a suit filed by A.P.J.Mohamed Muthu Meera Maraikayar, elder brother of Abdul Kalam.

The court granted an interim injunction on an application arising out of Abdul Kalam’s elder brother’s suit restraining V.Ponraj, S.Kumar and R.Thirusenduran, claiming to be the president, general secretary and secretary respectively of Abdul Kalam Vision India Party, from using the name / figurine / picture of former president late Abdul Kalam, as a part of the party name or in the flag of their political party or for any other political activity, pending final decision to be taken by the Election Commission of India.
