Chennai: Lord Venkateswara idol to be installed at Panchavatee temple
Following the installation (prathishta) of the vigraha (idol) at the sannadhi, the temple will come to be known as Madhya Tirupathi.
Chennai: An impressive seven-and-a-half feet idol of Lord Venkateswara in granite gifted by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will be installed at the Panchavatee temple famous for the 36-feet high Panchamukha Anjaneyar idol, on Friday.
Following the installation (prathishta) of the vigraha (idol) at the sannadhi, the temple will come to be known as Madhya Tirupathi. The temple is situated at Pappanchavadi village about 11 km from Puducherry and 29 km from Thindivanam, on the Puducherry – Thindivanam national highway,
“The Lord’s statue will be installed at the nutana sannadhi between 6.30 am and 8 am on May 10 during the shashti thithi. The divine function will be preceded with yantra sthapanam and ratna nyasam when the divya mangala Sri Venkatachalapathy Swamy Moolavar will have his pratishta to shower his blessings on His devotees,” M. Kothandaraman, chairman and managing trustee of Panchamukha Sri Jayamaruthi Charitable Trust, says.
The Ashta Swarnabandana Jeernotharna Maha Samprokshanam (consecration) will be held on June 23.
He said the Panchavatee temple is one of the special divine temples of the Lord as the Lord vowed to have a magnificent sannadhi for Himself and this was revealed in the Ashtamangala Devaprasanam held at Payyanur in Kerala in 1999.
The installation function will be performed under the guidance of Dharmatma Sriman S. Yegnasubramanian. The Panchamukha Sri Jayamaruthi Seva trust which is fully managing the temple by its own contributions, has made all arrangements for the mahotsavam. U. Ve. Venkatesa Bhattachariar and Sridhar Bhattachariar and their team will perform the prathishta mahotsavam.
At this temple Lord Sri Rama manifests in all regal glory with His full Durbar with 10 Parivaram as described in the epics, along with Sri Sita Devi, Lakshmana, Bharata, Shatrugna, Sugreeva, Angadha, Jambava, Vibishana and Anjaneyaswamy. Sri Rama gives darshan to His devotees in this Pattabisheka Thirukolam not to be seen in any other temples in the world.
