CBSE: Tumakuru boy tops Chennai region

Bengaluru: Girls have outshone boys, as usual, showed the class 10 CBSE results, which were released on Monday. The South Region (which includes Karnataka), has registered a pass percentage of 95.89 percent after Thiruvananthapuram, which has a pass percentage of 99.85 percent.
Tumakuru student D. Yashas made his family and the state proud, emerging as the topper for Karnataka with 498 marks out of 500. He studied in Varadi International Schoo. Hariharan and Disha Choudhary from Presidency College, Bengaluru South, claimed second place together.
Roopali, the daughter of deceased minster C.S. Shivalli, scored 91 percent. She had to appear for her exam on the day of her father's death. He had died of a cardiac arrest in Dharwad.
As many as 2, 21,175 students registered for the exam in South Zone. A total of 2,20715 students have passed.
Siddharth, the son of Maharani College professor A.C. Manjula Siddharth, who studies at Malleswaram Kendriya Vidyalaya, was the school topper with 402 marks. His father, Puttaswamy, is a senior assistant director with the Information Department.
