Deputy Superintendent of Police Anupama Shenoy

Mangaluru: While Kudligi DySP, Anupama Shenoy, who recently resigned from her post, proved difficult to contact,  her  brother, Achyuth Shenoy told the Deccan Chronicle  that she had resigned due to an issue related to the Ambedkar Bhavan.

“When we asked her why she had resigned, she said  she had taken the step for a right reason and asked us to support her. She hopes that things will be corrected and the reason for her resignation, accomplished,” he added.

Maintaining that his sister was not a quitter, he said she had taken the step to highlight a problem and have it resolved. “We too were shocked to learn that she had resigned. But later we realized that her resignation was a part of her fight. She is not someone to quit so easily,” he added.

Meanwhile, sources said Ms Shenoy was likely to write a detailed letter on all the developments related to Ambedkar Bhavan to her senior officers some time soon. “She is likely to write a letter on Monday or Tuesday  to the Superintendent of Police. If he takes appropriate action, she could rejoin the department,” sources added.

While the family  is in contact with her, her brother was evasive when asked about her whereabouts. “She is in our relative’s house. But we do not know where,” he claimed, adding  it would better for her if she left  Kudligi and worked elsewhere. “It is better if she leaves. Six months ago there was one issue and now  there is another,” he pointed out.
