Bengaluru: Super star Rajinikanth fans in Karnataka, who were eagerly waiting to watch Kaala on its worldwide release on Thursday, need not feel disappointed.

The movie will be released in 70 screens, including multiplexes and single screen theatres, across the state.

Though the fans were hopeful of its release after the Karnataka High Court passed an order asking the State Government to facilitate the release and provide security, it still seemed doubtful as the distributor were hesitant fearing a backlash.

However, in a sudden development, leading Kannada film producer and distributor Kanakapura Srinivas has decided to release the movie.

“Yes, Kaala is releasing across the State and in Bengaluru on Thursday. I have been arranging the theatre set up and was busy with the contract process for the release. As of now, the movie will release in about 60 to 70 screens on Thursday. The number will go up to more than 250 screens from Friday,” Srinivas added.

With regard to advance ticket booking facility through various online portals, the distributor said that online facility will made available late Wednesday night and the first show of Kaala will be as early as 10.30 a.m on Thursday.

It is still uncertain whether there will any special early morning shows due to security issues.
