Coop societies election open for diff-abled: TN CM
Chief Minister Palanisami said that members in the Cooperative Societies elect the contestants who have the people's support.
Chennai: Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami said that anyone including differently abled person could contest in the election to Cooperative Societies in the state.
When an issue regarding this was raised by Saidapet Legislator Ma Subramanian, the Chief Minister Palanisami said that members in the Cooperative Societies elect the contestants who have the people’s support.
Anyone, including differently abled person, can contest in the cooperative poll and constants, who have knowledge in the administration of cooperative societies, would be elected by the members.
Palanisami also stated that the work on construction of two-storey Vellachery police station is underway. Ramp would be set up at the building for the benefit of differently abled person.
Earlier Ma Subramanian has urged the government to permit the differently abled persons to become directors of the cooperative societies and the government shall not prevent them in any manner to become directors of the societies.
