Hyderabad: The southwest monsoon is expected to hit south Telangana on Thursday, and cover Hyderabad a couple of days later. The state is under a thunderstorm warning for June 7 and 8.

The IMD said thunderstorms accompanied with gusty winds were likely to occur at isolated areas in the state. The forecast was for heavy to very heavy rain in some areas.

The IMD said monsoon had covered parts of south interior Karnataka, most parts of Rayalseema, south coastal AP and west central Bay of Bengal. The conditions were favourable for the advance of the monsoon into more parts of Karnataka and Rayalaseema.
