Bengaluru: After the poll disaster, the knives are out for Congress general secretary in-charge of Karna-taka, K.C. Venugopal with many  Congress leaders  demand ing his ouster.

The first salvo has already been fired by former minister R Roshan Baig who dubbed Venu-gopal a ‘buffoon’ while other leaders claim he often favours CLP leader Siddara-maiah. They have decided to approach central leaders, demanding his replacement.

KCV, who replaced Mr Digvijay Singh as general secretary in-charge of the state unit, was considered fair initially. After the poll results, senior leaders summoned the courage to launch a campaign to oust him from the post of Karnataka in-charge.   They may also demand that the central leadership  implement the one man-one post rule against Siddaramaiah and ensure he holds  one post-either that of chairman of the  coordination committee or CLP leader, sources added.
