Ambati Rambabu justifies Jagan Mohan Reddy's act
Ambati Rambabu alleged that the TD was not honouring the customs and traditions of respect elders.
GUNTUR: The YSR Congress alleged suppression of public voice through power and police by the Telugu Desam government in AP. YSRC state spokesperson Ambati Rambabu alleged that the TD was not honouring the customs and traditions of respect elders and politicising padabhivandanam (touching the feet) by YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to the presidential candidate Ramnath Kovind.
Addressing a press meet at Guntur on Thursday, Mr Rambabu claimed that taking blessings from the elders is the ancient tradition and hence Mr Jagan had performed padabhivandanam to Mr Kovind. He said that there is nothing wrong and public appreciated the act of Mr Jagan of respecting elders. He alleged that unable to digest the growing popularity of Mr Jagan, the TD and the Congress leaders started the negative campaign against Mr Jagan for political gains. He alleged that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is the biggest opportunist as he backstabbed N.T. Rama Rao for power. Mr Ramababu clarified that YSRC’s support is for only the presidential election.
