Polavaram dam works gets one more exemption, complaint filed against AP

Hyderabad: The Union environmental and forest ministry has extended the Polavaram dam works by one more year on the recommendation of the Water resource ministry.

On a complaint filed by the Chhattisgarh and Odisha governments against AP taking up work on the project without environmental clearance, the ministry had ordered halting the work. The AP government later secured a one year exemption, followed by another one till 2018.
